I have over 11 years in the U.S. Navy. I was promoted to E-7 in July 2010. I use my experiences from the Navy
and apply them to my civilian career to help me advance. Although I am comfortable working alone on projects, I
love working with a team because it helps the creative juices flow.

My name is Alan as you have probably seen a few times. After high school I spent two years in college before joining the U.S. Navy. I spent 4 years aboard the USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) in Norfolk, Va. Just before a scheduled deployment terrorists attacked the U.S. Called to duty, my ship was called on to protect New York during the following days of 9?11. We immediately left for the Middle East to spearhead Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. I decided to come off active duty to go to school where I earned two associates degrees and a bachelor's degree. While in college I worked in two restaurants as a lead cook.
I began my design/development career at a print shop where I learned the print side of graphic design, which has helped me immensely in the final stages of my projects. I spent 7 months in Iraq for the Navy and have returned to Maryland working for ESI as a Web Developer. I am now seeking full time employment as a Front End Developer.
